История альбома была придумана гитаристом Джоном Петруччи в середине 2013 года, автором музыки являются клавишник Джордан Рудесс и гитарист Джон Петруччи. Композитор Дэвид Кэмпбел был нанят для помощи с записью оркестра и хора.
